How GetSeen works, in plain words: who pays what, what happens to the money, and what happens if something goes wrong.
The short version
- A brand pays the price shown, and is charged when it pays. Nothing is added on top.
- GetSeen keeps the money safe. The seller puts the Ad up within 48 hours and shows proof.
- Then the brand has 48 hours to confirm it or report a problem. If they do nothing, it counts as confirmed and the seller is paid.
- The seller pays 4.5% to GetSeen plus Stripe’s card fee, only when a sale completes.
- If a payment is refunded, Stripe keeps its card fee, so the brand gets back the amount minus that fee. That is the brand’s skin in the game. It is Stripe’s fee, not ours, and we are looking for a way to move away from it.
- If there is a problem, GetSeen reads both sides and decides.
1.What GetSeen is
GetSeen is a marketplace for Ads on anything. A seller lists a spot: a place on something they own, like a laptop lid, a car, a shirt or a video. A brand (the buyer) buys that spot and gets its Ad (its logo or artwork) seen there.
GetSeen holds the money between the two, and decides if there is a dispute. We are not the seller, and we don’t own the things that carry the Ads.
2.What can be listed
Sellers can list objects (like a laptop, car or bottle), wearables (like a shirt or cap), and digital things (like a video or a story). To list something, you must:
- own it, or have the right to put Ads on it;
- use real photos of the real thing, and draw your spots where Ads can really go;
- describe it honestly, including where it will be seen and how often;
- keep a listing open for no more than 30 days. You can relist it.
Not allowed: anything illegal, hateful, misleading or adult, links to chat groups or invite links, and anything that breaks someone else’s rights. GetSeen can take down a listing that breaks these rules. If we do, brands who already paid are refunded in full.
Sellers can set guidelines, like “no alcohol ads” or “family-friendly only”. Brands must agree to them before they buy, and the seller then reviews every brand’s artwork: they accept or reject it within 24 hours after the brand pays.
3.Prices and fees
- All prices are in euros.
- Brands: you pay the price shown for the spot. Nothing is added on top.
- Sellers: GetSeen takes 4.5% of the price, and Stripe’s card fee is taken too. You see both on every sale. You pay these only when a sale completes. Listing is free.
- For example, on a €100 spot the brand pays €100. The seller gets €100 minus 4.5% minus Stripe’s fee, which is about €1.75 on most European cards, so about €93.75. Other cards cost more.
- If a seller’s payout account is not in euros, the cost of converting the money is taken from the payout.
- Payouts go to sellers in the EU/EEA, the UK, the US, Canada and Switzerland.
Stripe is the company that takes card payments for us. GetSeen never sees your card details.
4.Buying at a fixed price
- The brand picks a spot and sends its artwork. If the seller has guidelines, the brand agrees to them first.
- The brand pays by card on Stripe’s secure page. It is charged at once, the spot is taken, and GetSeen holds the money. While the brand pays, the spot is reserved for a few minutes. If the payment arrives after the reservation ran out, the brand is refunded in full.
- If the seller has guidelines, the seller reviews every Ad. They have 24 hours to accept or reject the artwork, and if they don’t answer it is accepted. If they reject it, the brand is refunded minus Stripe’s fee (section 8) and the spot goes back on sale. The seller’s 48 hours start when they accept.
- Without guidelines there is no review, and the seller’s 48 hours start when the brand pays. The seller puts the Ad up and shows proof. Go to section 6.
5.Auctions
On an auction, each spot goes to the highest bid when the auction closes.
- A bid must beat the top bid by at least 2%.
- Your card is charged when you bid. GetSeen holds the money.
- If the seller has guidelines, they review every bid and have 24 hours to accept it. If they don’t answer, it is accepted automatically. If they reject it, you are refunded minus Stripe’s fee (section 8). A bid waiting for the seller does not outbid anyone yet.
- If someone outbids you: you get your money back minus Stripe’s fee (section 8). If you raise your own bid, your earlier bid is refunded the same way.
- If a bid can’t count (for example someone else’s higher bid was accepted first, the spot was sold, or the listing ended while you were paying), you are refunded in full.
- When the auction closes, the highest bid wins. If a bid is still waiting for the seller at that moment, the auction closes once the seller answers, or after 24 hours at most. The seller’s 48 hours start then. Go to section 6.
6.Putting the Ad up
The seller has 48 hours to put the brand’s Ad up and show proof, such as a photo. On an auction, those hours start when the auction closes. If the seller reviews Ads (they have guidelines), they start when the seller accepts the artwork.
If the seller shows no proof in time, the brand is refunded minus Stripe’s fee (section 8).
Spots have a duration, like “one-off” or “3 months”. The seller keeps the Ad up for that long.
7.Confirming, or reporting a problem
After the seller shows proof, the brand has 48 hours to confirm the Ad is up, or report a problem. If the brand does nothing, it counts as confirmed, and the seller is paid.
If the brand reports a problem, the seller can answer with their side and proof. Then GetSeen reads both and decides. This is also true if the seller says they did everything and the brand disagrees.
- If the Ad ran as promised, the seller is paid.
- If it did not, the brand is refunded minus Stripe’s fee (section 8).
8.Refunds, and who pays Stripe’s fee
A brand is always charged when it pays. Stripe keeps its card fee on every payment it takes, even if the payment is later refunded. GetSeen takes no fee on a refund and doesn’t pay Stripe’s fee for you. So when a payment is refunded, the brand gets back the amount minus Stripe’s fee. We think of it as skin in the game. It is Stripe’s fee, not ours, and we’re looking for a way to move away from it.
| If… | The brand |
|---|---|
| The seller rejects your artwork or your bid | Gets the money back, minus Stripe’s fee |
| You are outbid | Gets the money back, minus Stripe’s fee |
| Your bid can’t count because a higher bid came first, the spot was sold, or the listing ended | Gets all the money back |
| The seller shows no proof in 48 hours | Gets the money back, minus Stripe’s fee |
| You report a problem and GetSeen decides the Ad did not run | Gets the money back, minus Stripe’s fee |
| Your payment arrives after your reservation ran out | Gets all the money back |
| GetSeen takes a listing down after you paid | Gets all the money back |
A refund goes back to the card it was paid with. Banks can take a few days to show it.
If you think a seller rejected your artwork or bid unfairly, write to contact@getseen.win.
9.When the seller is paid
The seller is paid when the brand confirms the Ad is up, or when 48 hours pass after the proof with no problem reported, or when GetSeen decides the Ad ran as promised.
The seller gets the price minus 4.5% and Stripe’s card fee. To be paid, the seller sets up payouts on Stripe’s secure page. Until they do, the money stays safely held.
10.Artwork
A brand must have the right to use the logo or artwork it sends, and to let the seller print and show it.
Artwork is chosen at checkout, before paying, and can’t be swapped afterwards. If you made a mistake, write to contact@getseen.win and we will see what can be done.
The seller can refuse artwork that breaks their guidelines or these rules. GetSeen can remove an Ad that is illegal, hateful, misleading or breaks someone’s rights.
11.What we don’t promise
GetSeen can’t promise views, reach or results. A brand is buying presence on something, not performance. Sellers decide where and when their things are seen, and we can’t guarantee it.
